The Night With The LACS….The Beginning Of Muddy Beatz
This article is one in which I will bare all to you guys and gals. I believe Muddy Beatz was divinely inspired. I was at one of the lowest points in my life with bills all overdue, and a broken marriage. Why is it that a man with 5 years Marine Corps service, Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree and plenty of experience has no real understanding of his purpose?
My outlook changed after I took some advice from a group called “The LACS” and I just decided to “Get Lost.” I had no one to turn to but myself, and it was time to get away from everything. So I picked up and drove three hours to Charlotte, NC to see these South Georgia boys who I seemed to connect with on a level that has been lost since the days when I lived in a small town called Leesburg, GA. I used the time to think and reminisce about my past life in Georgia. I began to remember more and more about what I loved about that area, and “The LACS” were helping to reignite that small flame that had been extinguished so long ago in Albany, GA after my grandmother passed away.
See I will not lie to you… I got wasted.
I spent all my money buying JagerBombs for Clay, Brian and myself. I guess in a strange way I felt at peace. It was like I was hanging out with my buddies from Lee County one more time. They probably didn’t even remember me the next day, but it was fine. I discovered who I was supposed to be, not what life had forced me to be.
While lying in the bed at a motel which I would advise no one to ever step foot in, it hit me… Muddy Beatz Magazine, a magazine devoted to southern music. It would rival “The Source” and “The Rolling Stone,” but it would be strictly for southern music of all kinds. Thinking about the concept, I wrote down the business plan on the pizza box lying next to the bed. I never thought that so many people would have even been interested, but it has been a crazy ride and I don’t see it stopping. I am fine with that. The plan is that you enjoy “Muddy Beatz.”
Also, I want to send out a very special thank you to the whole LACS family. You guys ignited a dream!
